Large format 3D printers, built as a platform
Modix builds large format 3D printers for engineering, production and prototyping: the BIG series for filament, from the BIG-60 to the two-meter Everest, and the MAMA series for pellets and filament, up to the three-meter MAMA XL-3000.
One idea runs through every announcement here: customers upgrade rather than replace. New print heads, electronics and add-ons ship as upgrades to printers already on the floor.
Modix launches Generation 5 of its large-format 3D printer platform
A new Duet 3 electronics platform across the BIG series, already shipping, that opens the door to tool changing, pellet extrusion and 45-degree printing.

At its center is the Duet 3 control platform with CAN bus distributed electronics. Machines ordered through the summer are already shipping on the new platform.

- Automatic tool changing and multi-material printing: the Bondtech INDX tool changer brings multiple materials and colors within one part to Modix printers of one meter and above
- Compact pellet extrusion on the BIG series: pellets for throughput and low raw-material cost, filament for detail, on the platform you already own
- 45-degree printing: a tilted print-head system for large hollow parts, saving kilograms of support material and hours of post-processing

The largest Modix system yet: a three-meter pellet and filament printer, announced as the MAMA-1700 starts shipping.
